It depends. If you want to see SICILY (as in get a good overview of the whole island) then yes, 2+ weeks. But if you want to dip your toe in and see a region of it then less time is fine. For example, a city break in Palermo with one day trip to Cefalu OR Segesta OR Erice could be done in 4 full days.
