WebPhorate is a phosphorodithioate insecticide (chemical name O,O -diethyl- S -ethylthiomethylphosphorodithioate, CAS No. 298-02-2). Phorate is used in agriculture as a soil and systemic insecticide and sold under a number of names, the most common of which is Thimet. Webconfirmatory data on two OPs, methidathion and phorate, for the reasons described in detail in the OP cumulative assessment. The specific studies that will be required are: − 28-day repeated-dose toxicity study with methidathion oxon; and − Drinking water monitoring study for phorate, phorate sulfoxide, and phorate sulfone
