WebBlisworth is a village and civil parish in the West Northamptonshire, England. The West Coast Main Line, from London Euston to Manchester and Scotland, runs alongside the village partly hidden and partly on an embankment. The Grand Union Canal passes through the village and the north portal of the Blisworth tunnel is near Stoke Road. WebBlisworth Canal Tunnel. The Grand Junction Canal, as it was then, was completed and opened in 1800 with the with the exception of this tunnel. The first attempt at excavation failed, and so a tramway was built over Blisworth Hill, linking the canal termini. A second attempt at the tunnel proved more successful and it opened on 25th March 1805.
